Dr. Hector Garcia-Molina is Venture Advisor at Diamondhead Ventures.
He is the Leonard Bosack and Sandra Lerner Professor in the Departments of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Stanford University.
He was the Chairman of the Computer Science Department from January 2001 to December 2004.
He servers on the Board of Directors of Oracle Corporation and Kintera. In addition, he serves on the Technical Advisory Board of DoCoMo Labs USA and Yahoo Search & Marketplace.
From 1997 to 2001, Dr. Garcia-Molina was a member the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC).
He previously was on the faculty of the Computer Science Department at Princeton University. Google's two Founders were his PhD students and spun out of his laboratory at Stanford University to establish the company that today is Google. His research interests include distributed computing systems, digital libraries and database systems.
Dr. Garcia-Molina's has a PhD in Computer Science and an MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
