Helene D. Gayle is an American businessperson who has been the head of 5 different companies and presently occupies the position of Chairman for The Presidential Advisory Council on HIV. Dr. Gayle is also Chairman for The New America Foundation, President & Chief Executive Officer for The Chicago Community Trust, Member of Council on Foreign Relations, Inc., Member-Foreign Affairs Policy Board at US Department of State (District of columbia), Member of American Academy of Arts & Sciences, Member of American Public Health Association and Member of The Bretton Woods Committee and on the board of 12 other companies.

Dr. Gayle previously held the position of Director-National Center for HIV, STD & TB at Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, President & Chief Executive Officer for CARE USA, Chief Executive Officer at McKinsey.org and Program Director at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Trust.

Helene D. Gayle received an undergraduate degree from Barnard College, a doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree from The Johns Hopkins University.
