Adviser to CVC since 2015.

Mr. Thijs is the former CEO of bpost, a position he held since 2002. After a successful turnaround, Mr Thijs led the IPO of bpost in June 2013.

Prior to joining bpost, he held general management and CEO-functions in FMCG-companies such as Vander Elst, Master Foods, Jacobs-Suchard-Côte D'or, Ter Beke and Interbrew (now AB Inbev).

He is a member of the board of Delhaize Group and USG People and Chairman of the board of Betafence, Spadel and Recticel.

Mr Thijs holds a degree in commercial engineering.
