Currently, Kesava Menon Chandrasekhar is Chairman at Centre For Development Studies. Mr. Chandrasekhar is also on the board of Tata Power Co., Ltd., Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd. and Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. and Chairman for Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technolog.

In the past he held the position of Independent Non-Executive Director at The Federal Bank Ltd. (India), Managing Director at Kerala State Civil Supplies Corp. Ltd. and Chairman-Spices Board at India Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

He received a graduate degree and an undergraduate degree from St. Stephens College and a graduate degree from the University of Leeds.
