Presently, Yan Pin Yoong is Chairman of Yayasan Nanyang Press. Mr. Yoong is also on the board of HeveaBoard Bhd.

He previously held the position of Branch Manager at Chung Khiaw Malaysia Bhd., Council Member at The Federation of Hakka Association of Malaysia, Chief Executive Officer & Director at United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd., Branch Manager at United Overseas Bank Group, Council Member at Institute of Bankers Malaysia, Council Member at Association of Banks In Malaysia and Council Member at Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Malaya.
