Adel El-Beltagy is a Trustee of Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a Foreign Member of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Science and the Kyrgyz Agrarian Academy, Honorable Professor of the Scientific Council of the Azerbaijan Agricultural Academy, and a Fellow of TWAS.
He has been Chairman of the Global Forum on Agricultural Research (GFAR) since 2006 and IDDC since 2003.
Previously, Mr. El-Beltagy was Director General of ICARDA from 1995 to 2006, a Director and Chairman of the Agricultural Research Center from 1991 to 1995, and First Under-Secretary of State for Land Reclamation from 1986 to 1991.
