WILL FRANCE MARCH TO A DIFFERENT BEAT UNDER MACRON?

(London, Zurich): Will Macron be able to deliver on his promises to revive the French economy and unify Europe?

Macron has outlined an ambitious reform programme for Europe. He wants deeper integration of the euro zone and completion of the banking union. Will he be able to revive the French economy and unify Europe?

Geoffroy Lenoir, Aviva Investors' Head of Euro Sovereign Rates, Mutual Funds, discusses Macron's prospects. He explains that the relationship between northern Europe and southern Europe will be key to the future of the euro zone. Macron could play a big role in fostering greater unity.

But Lenoir also sees that, with populism having been faced down in France and the Netherlands, the biggest threat to the future of the euro zone is Italy.
