Chris Schmid

Mr. Schmid spent most of his career in the automotive supply industry.
He retired in 1999 after many years as president of LuK, Inc. in Wooster, Ohio.
During his tenure the company grew from an assembler of imported parts to the largest independent, fully integrated manufacturer of clutches and torque converters in the USA. In 2000 he consulted with the Neumayer Tekfor Group, an international group of hot and cold forging companies supplying machined components to the global automotive industry.
He started the US operation and until 2004 served as president of Tekfor USA in Wooster where the company grew from a greenfield to the current size of 140 employees and $30 million in sales.
Mr. Schmid is co-investor and president of Wooster Hydrostatics Inc. in Wooster, a hydraulic pump remanufacture serving local and international markets.
He also acts as manufacturers representative for German manufacturers serving US brake systems manufacturers such as Bendix and Haldex.
He is member of the board and co-manager of Ashland Precision Tooling.
He holds a MSME degree from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
