Prior to joining City National Rochdale, Mr. Garza was most recently employed with BNY Mellon as a Portfolio Management Senior Director, where he was responsible for managing and leading a portfolio management team that served high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients, as well as representing the firm’s investment strategy and outlook at public speaking events.
He began his portfolio management career as a Portfolio Manager at Roxbury Capital Management, where he was responsible for product and portfolio management, as well as serving as both a technology and consumer products analyst.
Additionally, he was a member of a two-person team responsible for business growth of $300 million to $2 billion in assets.
He later transitioned into a Portfolio Management Managing Director and Partner, where he helped guide portfolio strategy, determined sector weightings, and evaluated economic outlook and risk management.
Furthermore, he assisted in the management of $4 billion in institutional assets and in developing a firm-wide model portfolio.
Mr. Garza holds a BA in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of California.
He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.
He is also a member of the board of directors for the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
