The Royal United Kingdom Beneficent Association (RUKBA) is a registered charity founded in 1863 which operates as Independent Age. Located in London, RUKBA aims to help older UK or Republic of Ireland residents living on low incomes remain independent in their own homes by providing them with a small additional income, grants for emergencies and aids to mobility. The Board of Trustees has overall responsibility for the charity under the terms of its Royal Charter. They meet at least four times a year to conduct the normal business of the charity and to assess reports on performance against the Charity Plan approved by the Trustees. The Trustees delegate the day-to-day management to the Chief Executive and staff.
