Jörg Langbein

Dr. Jörg Langbein is a Researcher at RWI - Leibniz-Institut für Wirtschaftsforschung e.V.
He joined the RWI research division “Environment and Resources” in 2014.
His research focuses on impact evaluations of development interventions using modern quantitative methods.
In particular, he mainly analyses and implements household surveys to disentangle the effects of electrification in rural West Africa.
Before joining RWI, he worked as a researcher at the institute for “Environmental Resources and World Trade” at Leibniz University of Hanover.
He has gained field experience in Burkina Faso, Senegal, Tanzania, and Indonesia.
Mr. Jörg Langbein holds a Master in Economics from the University of Goettingen and a Bachelor in Politics and Economics from the University of Muenster.
He also studied in Montpellier and Lille, France.
