Alcala Carlos

Carlos Alcala is a Vice President at Altera, where he is responsible for sourcing and underwriting Altera’s primary fund and direct investments.
Carlos is also responsible for building and maintaining firm-wide relationships with key general partners and other corporate stakeholders, informing corporate strategy, and leading corporate accounting.
He is also a member of the Investment Committee.
Carlos began his career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs in New York where he worked in the Natural Resources Group.
He then moved to Atlanta where he focused on covering clients primarily located in the Southeast.
After spending time with Goldman, Carlos moved to the Online Strategy Group at The Home Depot where he focused on developing and rolling out enterprise-wide initiatives to continue growing one of the largest online businesses in the world.
Carlos graduated summa cum laude, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Georgia, and is on the board of Apollo, an underclassmen organization at the University of Georgia that prepares students for careers in the financial industry.
