RSIM is an active manager which is organized into three distinct groups. The Asset Allocation Group meets monthly to determine overall investment strategy and asset allocation. The Stock Sector Group determines stock and sector selections, including UK equities. The Collective Investment Committee reviews the range of alternative investments available and provides information and guidance to the investment managers. Portfolio managers and analysts share information. The firm performs in-house research, supplemented by third party research of quoted companies in order to construct lists of equities from which clients' portfolios are constructed. RSIM fund managers conduct research and can not make or change recommendations without the approval of the Stock/Sector Group, comprised of senior directors in fund management teams. Recommendations are communicated to investment managers who make investment decisions. Research into externally-managed fund investments, unit trusts and other collective vehicles is also carried out by specialists who report to the Asset Allocation Group or the Alternative Investment Group.

SCL has a particular focus on development capital and real estate investments. The firm believes they are able to achieve stable, attractive returns with low volatility over a longer investment horizon.

IW&I is an active manager which seeks to provide a steady growth in income, protect the capital value of client assets and continue to provide long-term care and support. The firm’s investment portfolio invests in five main asset classes such as: fixed interest assets, equities, commercial property, alternative investments, and cash. While the firm invests in direct equities, they can screen individual stocks according to a range of criteria. The assets of clients are held in trust within the firm’s nominee company and are recorded in such a manner as to clearly indicate they do not belong to the firm.
