Dick Clayton

Dick Clayton is a Partner of Sycamore Ventures.
Dick focuses on hardware and system technology companies.
He serves on the boards of ACM Research (semiconductor Capital equipment) and Lightspin Technologies (Optical components and subsystems).
From 1996 to 1999, Dick was a Corporate VP at Adaptec where he led new technology business units in the PC Raid and Fiber Channel areas.
At Thinking Machines Corp., a leading massively parallel super-computer company, he was a Vice President and member of the board shortly after its founding in 1984.
He was responsible for product development, manufacturing and customer services during the next ten years.
Dick started his professional career with Digital Equipment Corp.
where he held numerous product development and business P&L management positions through 1983.
He became a corporate Vice President in 1975.
At several times during his career he also provided consulting services for smaller firms including Avid and Intensys.
Dick received his B.S.
and M.S.
in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dick also attended the Senior Executive Program at the Sloan School of Business at MIT.
