The firm was founded in 1994 as Minkgrove Ltd. and they became Old Mutual Global Investors (UK) Ltd. in 2012 after the merger of Skandia Investment Group and Old Mutual Asset Managers (UK) Ltd. They renamed into Merian Global Investors (UK) Ltd. in 2018. The firm is a direct subsidiary of Jupiter Fund Management Plc (LON: JUP), which acquired the firm in 2020. MGI-UK provides asset management services to sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, endowments, family offices and other financial institutions.

(OMAM) is the Great Britain-based investment management subsidiary of Old Mutual Global Investors (UK) Ltd., itself a subsidiary of Old Mutual Plc (LSE: OML), a global financial services group which operates in Europe, South Africa, the U.S. and Asia Pacific. Old Mutual traces their history back to 1845, originating as a South African-based mutual society. In 1999, they became a public listing. Located in London. OMAM is independently managed and provides investment advisory services for a range of hedge funds, open-ended investment funds, managed accounts and ISAs to institutions and private investors.
