Vanderploeg, CFA MBA, is a Principal at Mocap Partners LP.
Mr. Vanderploeg was the senior member, and portfolio manager, of a diversified developed markets private equity investment portfolio, which included commitments to limited partnership funds in the corporate acquisition, venture capital and mezzanine lending areas, among others.
Cumulatively, he was responsible for originating in excess of $3 billion of commitments to approximately 100 limited partnership funds.
He represented the pension fund on the advisory boards of a dozen management companies.
The private investing group made numerous investments directly into a wide variety of manufacturing and service corporations in varied industries including media, agriculture, financial services, retail and others, most often on a co-investment basis.
He served as the Boards de facto member to over 20 Boards of Directors on investments for which he was principally responsible.
Mr. Vanderploeg holds 1983 Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
He also received his Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsi - Madison in 1991.
He has held the Chartered Financial Analyst designation for over a decade.
