Prior to joining Abacus in early 2007, Mr. Carey was a Senior Analyst at an independent equity research firm where he covered and published on over 100 companies in a variety of industries.
He has worked as a business valuator and expert witness in various litigation support cases.
In addition to deep understanding of accounting rules and methods, Mr. Carey has an expert understanding of the valuation of asset securitization transactions, pensions, and a variety of synthetic instruments.
In addition to a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics, He is a CFA charterholder.
He serves on several charity boards and advisory councils and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Canadian Advocacy Council of Canada’s CFA Institute Societies.
