They look for managers with clearly articulated investment philosophies that have been consistently applied over time and definable, repeatable investment processes with appropriate risk control methods and procedures. Aston also looks for managers with returns that are consistent with their investment process and strong, audited performance records. In addition, the firm looks for managers with investment insights that have been developed over a long time period, cultures that foster the idea that average is not good enough and actively-managed, high conviction, distinct investment approaches that have the potential to significantly outperform their benchmarks over time.
