Ms. Christy Lee Su Wei, Investment Manager, some would agree that she does not represent your typical profile of an Investment Manager.
With a background in software engineering and journalism, she brings to MAVCAP a unique combination of business know-how, tech expertise, industry knowledge and media skills.
This allows her, in her dealings with entrepreneurs, to quickly and easily understand both the technology and commercial aspects of businesses.
Having had experience in starting business ventures herself, she is familiar with the issues and challenges faced by entrepreneurs.
She realises that companies require more than just financial aid to flourish.
With this, she aims to offer to entrepreneurs not only guidance from an investor's perspective, but also her expertise in technology, business strategy, market positioning and media perception, as well as access to a network of industry contacts.
As an entrepreneur at heart, she is admittedly very passionate about businesses - and this passion can be observed in the enthusiasm she shows when engaging entrepreneurs.
Discussing with them about their business plans and exploring together strategies to build profitable companies number among the activities she largely enjoys while working at MAVCAP.
Prior to joining MAVCAP, she served at The Star newspaper as a technology journalist for a few years, specialising in ICT industry sectors such as creative content, games, telecommunications, biometrics, security, networking and entreprise solutions, among others.
In total, she has eight years experience in the media field, and has received three awards in recognition of her journalistic contributions.
She also has professional experience in designing games, developing software, building websites and teaching.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computing from Staffordshire University, UK.
