Cynthia Picciano

Cynthia Picciano is Vice President, Global Human Resources for Sterling Commerce, a subsidiary of SBC Communications and a leading global provider of e-business software and service solutions.
Picciano is responsible for managing Sterling's global human resource functions including benefits, compensation, employee development, employee relations, human resource information systems, legal compliance, payroll and recruiting.
Picciano joined Sterling Commerce in 1996, and most recently served as Director, Human Resources for Sterling's Americas East and Central regions.
Prior to that, she was Director, Human Resources for Sterling's Interchange Software Group.
Picciano is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the SHRM High-Tech Net.
She is also a member of the Employment Management Association and the Human Resources Association of Central Ohio where she served on its Programming Committee.
In addition, Picciano is a member of Mensa, an international high-IQ society.
Before joining Sterling Commerce, Picciano worked in the information technology, investment and manufacturing industries for 18 years and held senior management positions in human resources, operations and engineering with Entek Scientific Corporation, Information Dimensions, Inc., Investor Life Services and Procter & Gamble Company.
Picciano holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati.
She also has earned her Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
