Dr. Declan M.
Tiernan is the Head of European FICC Structured Product Syndication at UBS AG.
He joined UBS in 2010 from Sciens Capital Ltd where he was the Managing Director.
Pior to Sciens, he served at Deutsche Bank in London where he was Head of Distribution for synthetic CDOs and other alternative products for Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Before this, he held a similar role at HSBC where he was responsible for marketing structured and alternative credit products, predominantly to UK and Middle Eastern Clients.
Between 1999 and 2002, Dr. Tiernan was Head of Structured Products at National Commercial Bank in Saudi Arabia where he was responsible for the structuring and distribution of investment products to the bank's private and corporate client base.
Dr. Tiernan holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Theoretical Physics, both from Queen's University, Belfast.
