Derk Statham

Dr. Statham's experience lies in start-up and management of high technology companies.
Since retiring from Corning Inc. in 1999, where he was VP Corporate Development, Statham has acted as CEO of Oplink Communications Inc., a SVoptical components company, and was a founder of Arista Networks.
While with Corning, Statham contributed to the development of their life science businesses and the restructuring of several materials businesses.
He also served as President and CEO of Biosym, a Corning subsidiary, and Chairman of its successor company, Molecular Simulations Inc. During the 1980's, Dr. Statham was Director of Ventures at Alcan Aluminum Ltd., where he managed start-up or early development companies within electronic materials, composites, aerospace components, batteries and disc drives.
Dr. Statham has a B.A., M.A.
and Ph.D.
in materials science from Oxford University and an M.B.A.
from Rider University.
Dr. Statham has spent over 30 years in a variety of senior management positions and provides significant strategic guidance to NGEN.
