The firm was founded by Thomas Schwind in 1997 as Sonntag Mronz Schwind Anlagemanagement GmbH and renamed SMS & Cie. Vermögensmanagement GmbH in 2000. SMS & Cie. provides financial portfolio management (asset management) and investment advice to predominantly private clients in Germany and abroad as well as of foundations. It also acts as an investment advisor for the equity-oriented fund of funds SMS Ars selecta and as portfolio manager for the mixed fund SMS Ars mulitplex and the bond fund SMS Ars multizins.
