They invest in all countries, and in particular in Austria, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, the US and Western Europe. For companies in the expansion phase, the firm typically seeks to invest EUR 2-5 million in companies with developed technology, marketable products, initial revenues with high development potential and management with high technological competence, a strong marketing orientation and a clear strategy. For established mittelstand companies, HTPE seeks to invest EUR 3-10 million in businesses with a turnover of EUR 20-25 million, an established, well structured market position, above-average growth potential for the sector and a management team with a high level of market expertise, a strategic way of thinking and the vision to become a market leader. The firm generally invests EUR 5-10 million in pharmaceutical and biotech companies developing new chemical/biological entities or new products and will only invest in new drug delivery technologies in combination with concrete product development. Their investment criteria include the therapeutic indication, its associated market potential and the availability of a valid patent or patent portfolio. HTPE's investment committee makes the firm's investment decisions.
