Howard N. Samuels

Mr. Samuels, co-founder and Managing Director of The Mercator Group, has over 17 years of experience in consulting and management with companies in the US, Europe and Asia.
Howard has been responsible for managing numerous projects, ranging in size from small to very large multinational corporations.
His experience includes supply chain management, time-to-market improvement, operations excellence, electronic commerce, mergers and acquisitions and overall business management across a variety of companies in the technology, manufacturing, distribution and retailing sectors.
He helped pioneer Mercator’s Interim Management practice and has served in such positions as President & CEO for a start-up asset optimization services company and Vice President of Operations for a leading online auction and promotions platform provider.
In addition to his consulting experience at Mercator, he has held numerous positions in industry, including President and CEO of an early stage retail category killer, Vice President of Corporate Development for an $800 million B2B eCommerce company and Director of European Operations for a $1.5 billion computer hardware and systems integration services company.
Howard started his career at the Kendall Company, a division of Colgate-Palmolive where he implemented organization-wide supply chain and manufacturing quality programs as well as new product development initiatives for both Kendall and Colgate.
He has been on the Board of Directors of several companies including Microcom N.V.
and EquipNet, Inc. and currently sits on the Board of Families First, a non-profit provider of parenting education programs.
Howard has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and a Masters in Business Administration from Babson College where he was a Sorenson Scholar and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma.
