The firm was founded in 1990 and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Daiwa Asset Management Co., Ltd. (DAM), which in turn is wholly owned by Daiwa Securities Group, Inc. (TYO: 8601) in Japan. DAMA manages Japanese investment funds that DAM advises, interests in which are sold in Japan.
