The Border Consortium is an organization that has been working with refugees who fled conflict in Myanmar since 1984. The Border Consortium is based in Bangkok, Thailand. The company is the main provider of food, shelter, and other forms of support to approximately 87,000 refugees from Myanmar living in nine camps in western Thailand. The organization also supports recovery and community-driven development in conflict-affected areas in southeast Myanmar. The Border Consortium has become a repository for a unique array of related resources, and researchers and others can request an appointment in advance to access their Resource Centre. The organization's programme supports refugee communities to be involved and engaged in managing the camps. The Karen Refugee Committee, the peak Karen refugee body in Thailand, has provided detailed monthly reports on its activities since 1984.
