She was Project Manager and Research Assistant of the National Institutes of Health for the National Center of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder at the VA Medical Center.

She was a Director of the New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ms. Leaver received an AB degree from Dartmouth College and a JD from the Franklin Pierce College.
