Formerly known as BAWAG P.S.K. INVEST GmbH, the firm was founded in 2001 as the result of a merger between Bawag Invest GmbH and PSK Invest. Pioneer Investments Austria GmbH (PIA) is the Austrian asset management arm of Amundi Asset Management SA, ultimately held by Rue de la Boetie's Credit Agricole SA (XP: ACA; ADR; CRARY) in France. The firm dates to 1956 when Creditanstalt established Österreichische Investment Gesellschaft, which merged with Bank Austria’s investment company in 1998 and became Pioneer Investments Austria in 2006. PIA is headquartered in Vienna and manages mutual funds, pension funds and funds of funds for institutional clients and private individuals. They are a socially responsible investor and signatory to the UN Nation Principles for Responsible Investment and aim to create sustainable value for their clients, employees, local communities and shareholders.

Macquarie Investment Management Austria Kapitalanlage AG (Macquarie IM) is the investment management subsidiary of Macquarie Bank Ltd., itself a subsidiary of Macquarie Group Ltd. (SY: MQG) in Australia. The firm was established as INNOVEST Kapitalanlage AG in 1998, part of the Siemens Investment Department which managed the pension fund assets of Siemens AG Austria. When Siemens Group decided to focus on the industrial, energy and healthcare sectors in 2010, Australian Macquarie Group became their strategic partner. In 2012 the firm changed their name to Macquarie Investment Management Austria Kapitalanlage AG.
