Mr. Michael V.
O'Brien is a Director at Joel Isaacson & Co. LLC.
He joined the firm in 2010 and he specializes in working with high net worth individuals and families and provides them with a holistic and comprehensive approach to the financial planning process including investment strategy, insurance and risk management, tax planning, estate planning, and retirement planning.
He is a member of the firm’s investment committee and also a member of the Financial Planning Association, Financial Planning Association of New York, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. O'Brien was a forensic accountant and certified fraud examiner in the forensic, litigation, and valuation services division of UHY Advisors.
In this role, he calculated economic damages for complex commercial litigation and performed sophisticated financial analyses to detect and resolve financial fraud.
Mr. O'Brien received his B.A.
in financial economics from Gustavus Adolphus College where he also studied abroad at the University of Sussex in the United Kingdom.
He received his certificate in financial planning from New York University.
