Mr. Shiner began his career at Gordon Capital Corporation in 1993, first as a Research Associate covering the oil and gas, industrial and financial sectors, and then as a Corporate Finance Associate.
He then joined the Institutional Equity Sales desk at Gordon Capital, establishing many key institutional relationships for the firm.
He moved to TD Securities as Vice President and Director, Institutional Equity Sales and then to HSBC Securities Canada in a similar position.
He spent the past eight years at RBC Capital Markets as Director, Global Equity, Institutional Equity Sales.
In this role, he was the relationship manager for some of Canada’s largest pension funds, mutual funds, and investment counsellors.
His eighteen year career on Bay Street has been dedicated to equity investing, excelling with like-minded portfolio managers who employ a focused investment style.
Mr. Shiner holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western Ontario.
