Ms. Pinkos is a 15-year veteran investment officer with CalPERS.
In this newly created position, she will be responsible for asset allocation implementation and the development of a comprehensive risk management program for the pension fund.
Ms. Pinkos joined CalPERS in 1987, where she rose through ranks of the System's investment office.
Previously, she served as Senior Principal Investment Officer for the CalPERS Internal Equity program, overseeing a $55 billion domestic equity index fund and a $5 billion dynamic completion fund.
Ms. Pinkos has had oversight authority for CalPERS Corporate Governance unit and the System's active domestic equity, international equity and fixed income, and currency overlay managers.
She also laid the groundwork for CalPERS early alternative investments.
Before joining CalPERS, Ms. Pinkos had her own business advising individuals and small pension funds as a Certified Financial Planner.
Ms. Pinkos earned her Masters in Business Administration from Golden Gate University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan in mathematics.
She is a Charted Financial Analyst.
