Robert E. Shields

Mr. Robert E.
Shields is Vice Chairman of AlixPartners Holdings, Inc. and Questor Partners Holdings, Inc. He works closely with Jay Alix on strategic and other projects designed to build significant value for the enterprise.
He is a member of the AlixPartners operating committee and the enterprise management committee.
Formerly chief operating officer of Questor Management Company, LLC from 1995 to 2003, he also continues to serve on Questor’s investment committee.
Throughout his business career he has focused on mergers and acquisitions, financings, bankruptcies, restructurings and operational and financial management.
He has also served as board member and advisor for a number of public and private companies and as court-appointed trustee in various bankruptcies.
Prior to the founding of Questor in late 1994, Mr. Shields was a senior partner in the 480 lawyer Philadelphia-based firm of Drinker Biddle & Reath L.L.P.
He served variously as the head of that firm’s business and finance group, as its chief financial officer and as a managing partner of the firm.
He has authored books and articles on mergers and acquisitions, corporate law and securities law.
Mr. Shields received his A.B. degree from the College of the Holy Cross and his L.L.B. from New York University School of Law, where he was a Root-Tilden-Kern scholar.
