Before joining Neuberger, he served as a Managing Director and member of the Management Committee of OFFITBANK, a New York chartered trust bank.
Previously, he was employed by Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Gabelli asset management divisions where he ran wealth management related business units and was General Counsel.
He was the President and/or Director of a variety of domestic and international mutual funds and fund complexes, including the Institutional Liquid Assets(Goldman Sachs), Centerland (Centerre Trust) and Benchmark(Northern Trust) fund groups, the Malaysia, Thai Funds (US & UK), and Turkey country funds (Morgan Stanley).
He also served as Fiduciary Trust and Investment Counsel for a major New York money center bank.
He began his career at Davidson, Dawson & Clark and Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.
Mr. Wells graduated from Phillips Academy Andover, has a BA from Princeton University and a law degree from New York University.
