Tim Kaijala

Mr. Timothy J.
Kaijala is a Portfolio Manager at Ropes Wealth Advisors LLC.
He is a member of the firm’s Investment Team.
In his role, he meets with current and potential clients to discuss investment philosophy and process; develops and implements client investment policy statements; establishes ongoing portfolio recommendations based on market environment, tax considerations, and individual client objectives.
He also plays an integral role in Ropes Wealth’s asset allocation and manager search and selection effort.
Prior to joining Ropes Wealth, Mr. Kaijala was employed as a Portfolio Manager for Ropes & Gray LLP, he worked with the trustees of the Private Client Group as a resource for economic and market insights and investment manager analysis.
He also worked to implement the investment decisions of the trustees in the Private Client Group in their management and oversight of trusts and trust-related assets totaling close to $5 billion.
Prior to joining Ropes & Gray LLP, he spent several years at Old Mutual Asset Management as an Institutional Product Specialist.
As part of a very small investment research and analysis group, his work centered around competitive positioning for the firms many distribution channels, research for potential private equity acquisitions and divestments, as well as business cases for investment strategy extensions and seed capital.
He also spearheaded a thought leadership initiative that produced educational pieces to distil complex investment concepts into digestible reports.
Before joining Old Mutual Asset Management, he worked at Fidelity Investments in several roles: serving High Net Worth clients in King of Prussia, PA as a Private Client Specialist as well as rotations working with the Fidelity portfolio managers as a Portfolio Analyst working on equity, fixed income, and asset allocation funds.
Mr. Kaijala received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania.
