Tomotaka Kuwahara

Tomotaka joined the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) in 1998 where he led various policies related to energy, environment, automobile industry, IT, and economic industries.
He also served as a director of policy planning for Japan’s economic growth strategy of Abenomics at the Cabinet Office and a Consul at the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco.
In 2018, he joined Origami, a fintech startup where he focused on promoting digital transformation in various industries through cashless payment.
Tomotaka joined Scrum Ventures in March of 2020.
He is a graduate of the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law and the University of California at San Diego, International Relations and Pacific Studies.
