Michael Murphy is a former Co-Chairman-Industry Real Estate at the American Hotel & Lodging Association, Inc. He also served as Co-Chairman at the Industry Real Estate Financing Advisory Council.
From 2003 to 2013, he was the Lead Independent Director at Ashford Hospitality Trust, Inc. He then became an Independent Director at Braemar Hotels & Resorts, Inc. from 2013 to 2017.
Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Managing Director at Geller & Co. LLC from 1994 to 1996.
He is currently serving as an Independent Director at American Hotel Income Properties REIT LP and American Hotel Income Properties REIT (GP), Inc. He is also an Independent Director at Ashford, Inc. since 2018.
In the past, he held the position of Chief Development Officer & Senior Vice President at ResortQuest International, Inc. from 1998 to 2002 and President at Footprints International from 1995 to 1997.
He has also served as President of Atlanta Hospitality Alliance and Partner at Metric Partners Consulting LLC.
Additionally, he is a Member of the Hotel Development Council at The Urban Land Institute since 2013.
Currently, he is the Head of Lodging & Leisure Capital Markets at First Fidelity Mortgage Corp.
