Tanco is currently the President & Chief Executive Officer at Manila BAY Spinning Mills, Inc. and the Executive Chairman & President at Coats Manila BAY, Inc. He is also the Chairman of the Textile Mills Association of The Philippines, Inc. and the Aichi D2760 D3800 Scholarship Foundation, Inc. Additionally, he serves as a Director at Philippines First Insurance Co., Inc., Total Consolidated Asset Management, Inc., Eximious Holdings, Inc., Manila BAY Hosiery Mills, Inc., Philippine Belt Manufacturing Corp., De Los Santos-STI Megaclinic, Inc., PhilPlans First, Inc., Federation of Philippine Industries, Inc., PhilhealthCare, Inc., and the Philippine Employer-Labor Social Partners, Inc. Formerly, Mr. Tanco was the Chairman of the Federation of Philippine Textile Industries from 2003 to 2007.
He also served as a Non-Executive Director at Asian Terminals, Inc. and as a Director at JTH Davies Holdings, Inc. from 2010 to 2012.
In terms of education, Mr. Tanco completed his undergraduate and graduate degrees at North Carolina State University.
He also obtained an undergraduate degree from Mapua Institute of Technology in 1953.
