Eric Richard

Eric Richard is the Chief Information Security Officer and Senior VP of Engineering Operations at HubSpot.
He oversees HubSpot’s engineering operations teams including the team responsible for executing on the security and technology risk management to best protect our customers, partners and the business.
Eric brings more than two decades of experience in the tech industry as a founder, CTO, engineering, and business leader.
Eric also serves as the co-executive sponsor of the Women@HubSpot employee resource group.
Prior to HubSpot, Eric was the SVP of Engineering at Compete, where he led the company’s developer and engineering team through growth and internationalization initiatives.
Eric was previously the Chief Architect at SPSS and the VP of Engineering at Idiom Technologies.
Eric began his career as the co-founder and CTO of NetGenesis, an online software company that went public in 2000 and was later acquired by SPSS.
In his spare time, Eric spends time with his family, enjoys movies, and works to become a better runner.
He holds a BS in Computer Science from MIT.
