James Wagar

Prior to joining Northern Lights Capital in June 2010, Mr. Wagar was with Northern Lights Ventures from February 2008 to May 2010.
Previously, he was with BDV as a Principal in early 2007.
Prior to joining BDV, he was the CFO and a co-founder of Torrent Technologies, a business services company focused on the flood insurance marketplace.
In his role at Torrent, he completed the company's Series A financing, conducted business development to secure the company's first customers and helped grow the business from two to 23 employees in two states within two years.
He also served as a board member following his departure and advised the company on its Series B financing.
Prior to co-founding Torrent, he was a Principal of Northwest Capital Appreciation, a middle-market private equity firm where from 1997 to 2004 he participated in all aspects of private equity investing.
While at NCA he served on the boards of directors of three portfolio companies and was a regular board observer of three additional companies.
He began his career as a Senior Research Analyst with Towle Associates, a boutique investment management firm focused on international equities.
Mr. Wagar graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a BA in Business and finance concentration.
