Dr. Joseph F.
Coughlin is a Corsair Advisory Board member.
He is the founder and director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab.
He teaches in MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning and the Sloan School of Management’s Advanced Management Program.
His work explores how global demographics, technology, and changing behaviors are transforming business and society.
Dr. Coughlin advises a wide variety of global firms in the financial services, healthcare, real estate, retail, technology, and transportation industries and has served on advisory boards for companies such as Bell Canada, British Telecom, Daimler, Fidelity Investments, and Sanofi-Aventis.
He has held appointments on advisory committees for the White House, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, and the Governor’s Council to Address Aging in Massachusetts, co-chairing its Technology and Innovation Subcommittee.
He was recognized by the Wall Street Journal as inventing the future of retirement and one of “100 Most Creative in Business” by Fast Company Magazine.
He was named one of Investment News 2019 “Icons & Innovators.” He is a Senior Contributor to Forbes and has written for the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s and other leading business media outlets.
Previously he was with EG&G, global science and technology services firm, where he provided technical analyses in support of United States Departments of Defense, State, Transportation, and the White House Office of Science Technology Policy.
