As senior vice president and chief financial officer, Kathy McElwee is responsible for directing all aspects of VA Software finance, administration, investor relations, legal and human resources functions.
McElwee comes to VA with more than 23 years of experience in corporate finance.
While at 3DO, a videogame developer and publisher, she led teams responsible for operations, administration, accounting, information technology, investor relations and financial planning, and raised $65 million in financing.
Prior to 3DO, she served as CFO at Lightspan, Inc., a provider of educational software and Internet products and services.
Ms. McElwee has also held top–level management positions at Galoob Toys, where she worked to complete the sale of the business to Hasbro; Nissan Motor Corp.; Canteen Corp.; Dun & Bradstreet; Burroughs; and IBM.
McElwee holds a B.A.
from Pennsylvania State University and an M.B.A.
from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
