The Davey Tree Expert Co. engages in the provision of arboricultural, horticultural, environmental, and consulting services. The Residential and Commercial Services segment comprises treatment, preservation, maintenance, removal and planting of trees, shrubs and other plant life; practice of landscaping, grounds maintenance, tree surgery, tree feeding, and tree spraying; application of fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides; and natural resource management and consulting, forestry research and development, and environmental planning. The Utility segment offers services to utility customers-investor-owned, municipal utilities, and rural electric cooperatives such as practice of line-clearing and vegetation management around power lines, rights-of-way, and chemical brush control; and natural resource management and consulting, forestry research and development, and environmental planning. The All Other segment include activities in research, technical support, and laboratory diagnostic facilities. The company was founded by John Davey in 1880 and is headquartered in Kent, OH.
