Michael E. Holmstrom

On September 25, 2007, WJ Communications, Inc. (the “Company”) was informed of the death of director Michael E.
Holmstrom who passed away on September 22, 2007.
Mr. Holmstrom served as a director of the Company since July 2004 and will be greatly missed.

Holmstrom has been a Director WJ Communications, Inc. since July 2004.
He joined Elektryon, Inc. as Chief Financial Officer in 2000 and was President until March 2002.
He had been Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Alaska Communications Systems Group since 1999.
From 1998 to 1999, Mr. Holmstrom was Chief Financial Officer for Atlantic Tele-Network.
From 1996 to 1998, he was Chief Operating Officer for Spectrum Network Systems Ltd. He held various senior management and consulting positions at CP National Corporation, including Vice President of Unregulated Operations, Chief Financial Officer and President.
He was Vice President of Financial and Business Planning for Pacific Telecom and Vice President of Finance for Alascom, Inc. Mr. Holmstrom was Executive-in-Residence Professor of Business Strategy at Texas A&M University.
He received a BS in Business Administration from Gannon University.
