Inter-Risco is an active, generalist manager which invests in Portuguese SMEs in a variety of sectors except the financial and real estate sectors, preferring to participate in MBOs, MBIs, LBOs or business expansion transactions. The firm seeks to invest in well managed, established companies with growth potential, the capacity to become market leaders and medium-term profit potential. Inter-Risco generally invests EUR 5-20 million in partnership with other institutional investors or strategic partners, taking majority or minority stakes in their investee companies. They generally exit investments through trade sale or secondary market sales. The firm's investment committee makes their investment decisions.
