In particular, the firm has invested in conveyor systems and insulation materials. Their investment approach views Polish businesses within a pan-European context and draws on the international experience of NPE combined with the firm's own local expertise. Krokus acquires majority stakes or significant minority interests and follows a hands-on investment strategy. The firm participates in company management through board representation and actively influences corporate governance and strategic planning. Investment criteria include a leading and defensible market position, strong management, organic or external growth potential, prospective involvement in sector consolidation and undervaluation combined with sound fundamentals. Exits strategies include sale to industry or financial investors, resale to existing shareholders or IPO. In addition to the Nova Polonia Natexis portfolio sponsored by NPE, the firm manages three other private equity funds at various stages of maturity: 1) NFI Magna Polonia which originated as a privatization fund sponsored by the Government of Poland and later was gradually redeployed as a private equity fund, 2) Nova Polonia which was invested as expansion capital in fragmented industries, and 3) Prospect Poland which consisted of a portfolio of distressed situations.
