United is an active multi-manager which provides investors with access to a range of 'blended' portfolios of leading fund managers in each asset class, aiming to provide above median performance at below median risk. The firm's in-house Investment Team determines strategic and tactical asset allocation against predetermined benchmarks and selects fund managers based on their investment style and process, consistency in applying their investment style and process, proficiency and experience of their investment team, past performance, potential to add value over the long-term and their risk/management controls. United selects investment managers with complementary styles for each asset class to reduce style or capitalization bias. For each of their diversified funds, they employ a passive asset allocation approach based on the relevant average asset allocation of the respective universe, focusing on stock selection as the key source of out-performance.
