They also invest directly in Brazilian companies in the expansion and consolidation stages, as well as in early-stage companies. The firm invests across a range of sectors including IT, communications, manufacturing, clean technologies and biotechnology. Their deal flow is based on their cooperative relationships with a number of Brazilian associations, investors, entrepreneurs and fund managers as well as investment banks, business incubators, consulting and auditing firms. One of Stratus Gestão's strong points is investing in environmentally sustainable companies across development stages. Domestically-based sustainable agriculture and alternative fuels are of particular interest to them. Their venture capital investments target companies at the business plan preparation stage. Their larger investments focus on established companies facing sector changes or competitive challenges, including consolidation, buy-and-build and asset strips.
