Holger Bonin

Dr. Holger Bonin is a Research Director at Forschungsinstitut zur Zukunft der Arbeit GmbH.
He is also a member of the Commission of Experts for Research and Innovation established by the German Federal Government and teaches as a Professor of Labor Market and Social Policy at the University of Kassel.
He has been the Research Director of IZA since July 2016.
His empirical research focuses on the impact of digital progress and demographic changes on employment and working life.
He also evaluates the effects of social policy measures, in particular in the realms of active labor market policy and family policy.
Besides his research, he is very committed to academic policy consulting.
He is a member of the platform Digital World of Work established by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
He is elected member of the Economic Policy, Social Policy, and Population Economics Committees within the German Economic Association.
He served in the Independent Expert Commission for the Second Gender Equality Report of the Federal Government.
