Mr. Jean-René Catalan has been a Partner and the General Counsel of IPE since he joined the team in 2002.
He has been involved in structuring all the firm’s investments and funds since then.
Prior to joining IPE, Mr. Catalan was the General Counsel of Credit Lyonnais Private Equity, where he worked on LBO transactions with Philippe Nguyen, François Nicoly and Olivier Poncelet.
Before that, from 1995 to 2000, he was General Counsel of CDC Private Equity Capital (then headed by Philippe Nguyen), in charge of fund management.
Prior to that, he provided tax and legal advisory to the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP) from 1983 to 1987, and then to the Caisse des Dépôts group, the investment arm of the French state, from 1987 to 1995.
Mr. Catalan holds a graduate degree in law and a Master’s degree in tax from Assas University, Paris.
